Certified Translations in the US
When submitting foreign language documents for legal purposes you will often be asked to provide a certified translation, for example when filing documents with USCIS, foreign embassies or university admissions. Examples of such documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, transcripts, medical records, and others. Orange Translations provides certified translations through its Greensboro, North Carolina translation office. In most cases, the whole process takes around 3-5 working days.
Requirements may vary for different government departments. The notarized translation format that we provide has generally been accepted, but we cannot guarantee that it always will. If you want to be certain, please contact the government department where you are filing the papers and ask them for their specific certified translations requirements.
The certification we provide is a one-page “Certificate of Accuracy”, stating that the translation is true and accurate. This certificate is attached to the translation. It is signed by a representative of our company and notarized, with signature and notary stamp by a notary public of North Carolina. In most cases, the whole process takes between 3 and 5 working days.

The Process
Step 1: Submit your documents
Email your documents to usa@orangetranslations.com, fax them to (336) 793 4865 or use the "Quick Quote" contact form on this page. We do not need the originals. A scanned copy or picture from your smartphone is fine.
You can also drop off copies of your documents (please do not leave originals with us) at our registered office at 717 Green Valley Road, Suite 200, in Greensboro. However, our project managers work remotely; they are not based at that office. We have receptionists there who will be happy to scan and forward your documents to us, but they are not familiar with the translation process and will not be able to answer any questions. Therefore, the most convenient process is to send us your documents directly by email.
Step 2: Quotation
We analyze your documents and contact you by email (usually within 2-3 hours) to inform you of the cost, delivery time and send you a payment link.
Step 3: Payment
To accept the quotation, click on the payment link we sent you and follow the steps to complete your Paypal or credit card payment.
Step 4: Translation, review and approval
We complete the translation and email it to you for approval. That way you have the opportunity to check the spelling of names, dates etc. and confirm that you are happy with everything.
Step 5: Notarization
We print out the translation, issue a certificate of accuracy and take it to the notary.
We usually schedule the notarizations a few days in advance, so if you are on a tight schedule please let us know so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Step 6: Delivery
We send the notarized translation to you by Priority Mail (with tracking). Priority Mail Express or FedEx is also possible, depending on how fast you need it.
