Video Translation & Subtitling

Orange Translations draws from a network of several hundred professionals worldwide, offering transcription, translation and subtitling services in English and more than 50 other languages.

Are you looking to get your videos subtitled, professionally and in multiple languages? Then you have come to the right place. We have provided subtitling services in 50+ languages for over 15 years. A lot of our work is in the marketing and advertising field. We translate and subtitle promotional films, product videos and user instructions but also documentaries, interviews, speeches and presentations. In addition, we offer transcription services, so if you have a video but no script, we’ll transcribe it first, then translate the script and create the captions.

Some of the languages we have recently subtitled include: Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Indonesian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese, and many others.

Transcription, Translation & Subtitling Workflow

We start each project with a thorough evaluation of your needs and a detailed upfront quote.

Transcription

Once you approve the quote we transcribe the spoken language and other relevant audio, for example, if the captions are required for hearing impaired audiences. The transcription phase often involves several different transcriptionists, especially if speech is difficult to understand.

For example, sometimes there is noise, such as people coughing or shuffling papers, or sometimes accents can pose a challenge. Therefore, we do several rounds of review, by different transcriptionists, to make sure we understand everything correctly. We also do quite a lot of research, for example when industry jargon is used. We want to make sure we get it 100% right.

Translation

If multiple languages are needed we'll then translate the script using our ISO 17100 certified translation process. All translations are performed by professional translators who are native speakers of the languages. Each translation is reviewed by a second translator to ensure accuracy, consistency and good text flow.

Subtitling

If subtitling is required we break down the texts into segments that are easy to read on screen, time-code the segments, if necessary slightly edit or shorten them, and place the subtitles correctly into your video, either embedded (hardcoded) or as a separate file (e.g. SRT format). We support a broad range of video file formats.
