New Release of TYPO3 Localization Manager
Extension facilitates translation of TYPO3 websites.
After a development period of nearly a year, TYPO3 Localization Manager (l10nmgr) Version 3.3.3 has now been released. Localization Manager is an extension of the Web Content Management System TYPO3, which supports localization managers in the translation of TYPO3 websites. It offers a module for online translation as well as various interfaces for the export & import of translatable content.
The new version unifies the functionalities of the Localization Manager developed by the
TYPO3 inventor Kasper Skårhøj in 2007 (l10nmgr) and the extension by
Daniel Zielinski of L10Ntech (t3_locmanager). Since late 2007 the development is being pursued by a team of 5 developers. Orange Translations has been one of the sponsors supporting this work.
Localization Manager’s most significant new functionality is the XML Export-Import interface, which facilitates exports from the TYPO3 environment to professional translation tools such as DéjàVu, across, MemoQ, SDL Trados and Passolo, and the subsequent re-import of the translated content back to the TYPO3 environment.
The XML exports and imports can be run automatically, thus optimizing the workflow for websites that are constantly being updated, have a large number of language versions and a large volume of translations.
The new Localization Manager is now available and can be downloaded from the
TYPO3 Extension Repository. Its program interface is available in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. The documentation is presently only available in English.
